Choir

Choir Practice is held every Wednesday from September through April at 7:30 PM! Anyone ages 11 or older is welcome to join us!

Our History

Although our “timeline” states that the choir was formed in 1948, a 75th Church Anniversary Program from 1945, and a church bulletin from 1946 lists the choir singing under the direction of Walter T. Lane.

Eventually, Gertrude Fritzsche became the choir director, where she served until approximately 1963. Ackermanville Church did not have a choir from 1963 to 1969.

John (Jack) Davies, Sr. re-started the choir and became the director in 1969. Around 1993, Del Roberts, Jr. took over as choir director and is still the choir director today. Over the years we have also had children's choirs, although none at present.

At present, the choir consists of 17 regular members. Our Easter Cantata choir usually has more than 20 members. The choir sings an anthem during every Sunday morning worship from September through April/May.

We present an Easter Cantata every year during our Easter Sunday 10:00 AM worship service. An encore performance of the Cantata is held the Sunday after Easter at 7:00 PM.

We love the gifts that God has given our choir! One of the amazing gifts is hearing our men share their own special music during some worship services held throughout the year.

We would love to share the gift of music with the children in our congregation! If you would like to volunteer to lead a children's choir here at Ackermanville, please see Pastor Sukja or Del Roberts.  We need you to volunteer!
